What stays here, and what doesn't
Written plainly, because "we value your privacy" means nothing. This page says exactly where every piece of data goes.
The short version
This site has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, no cookies, and no tracking of any kind. Nothing you do in the free library is transmitted anywhere. Data leaves your device in exactly two situations, both of which you start deliberately: sending the contact form, and buying something.
1. The free library — your device only
When you star a practice, that star is written to IndexedDB, a small database built into your own browser. It sits on your computer or phone alongside the browser's other site data. There is no AnchorLight server to send it to — this is a static site, which means it is a set of files that your browser downloads and then runs on its own.
Concretely, this means:
- Nobody can see which practices you opened or saved. Not AnchorLight, not Netlify, not anyone. The information physically does not exist outside your device.
- Favourites are per-browser. Stars saved in Chrome on your laptop won't appear in Safari on your phone. There's no sync, because sync would require a server and an account, and that would break the promise above.
- Clearing your browsing data deletes them. So does using private/incognito mode, where the browser throws everything away when you close the window. The library detects this and tells you rather than silently losing your stars.
- You can take them with you. The Export my favourites button in the library writes a plain text file to your downloads — readable, printable, and yours.
The database is named anchorlight-resources if you ever want to find or delete it
yourself in your browser's developer tools or site-data settings.
2. The contact form — Netlify Forms
The contact page uses Netlify Forms. When you press send, the name, email address, topic, and message you typed are posted to Netlify, the company that hosts this site, and stored in the AnchorLight account there so a reply can be written.
- That submission is readable by AnchorLight and by Netlify as the host.
- It is used to reply to you and for nothing else — no mailing list, no marketing, no sale or sharing of your address with anyone.
- A hidden anti-spam field is included in the form. It stops automated submissions and collects nothing about you.
- If you'd like a message deleted after it's been answered, ask in the message and it will be.
Nothing is submitted until you press the button. Typing in the form and leaving sends nothing.
3. Buying something — Payhip
Every paid and free download is sold and delivered by Payhip, on Payhip's own pages. When you click a product on this site you leave AnchorLight entirely.
- Payment never touches this site. Card details are entered on Payhip's checkout and are handled by Payhip and its payment processors. AnchorLight never sees, stores, or has access to your card number.
- Payhip collects what it needs to complete a sale — typically your email address, and for digital goods, enough location information to charge the right tax. It sends your download link and receipt.
- What Payhip does with that information is governed by Payhip's own privacy policy, not this one.
- AnchorLight can see the order records in its Payhip dashboard — typically your email address and what you bought — in order to provide support and re-send downloads.
4. Hosting
This site is hosted on Netlify. Like every web host, Netlify's servers process the requests your browser makes — including your IP address — in order to send the pages back. That is a technical necessity of the web, not a choice made here. AnchorLight does not have access to per-visitor logs and does not run Netlify Analytics or any other analytics product. If that ever changes, it will be a server-side, cookie-free product and it will be stated on this page first.
5. What this site does not do
- No cookies are set by this site.
- No third-party scripts run on these pages — no analytics, no tag managers, no chat widgets, no social embeds, no advertising or retargeting pixels.
- No fonts, images, or scripts are loaded from third-party servers. Everything is served from this domain, so no other company learns you visited.
- No profile is built about you. There is nowhere to build one.
- Nothing here is sold or shared with data brokers.
6. Offline copies
After your first visit, the site stores a copy of its own pages in your browser's cache so the library keeps working without a connection. That cache lives on your device and is cleared the same way as everything else — through your browser's settings.
7. Children
These resources are written for adults doing peer support work and for adults in recovery. Nothing on this site knowingly collects information from children.
8. Changes and questions
If this policy changes, the change will appear on this page. If anything here is unclear, or you want to know what's stored about you, ask — the answer is usually "nothing", and you're entitled to hear that specifically rather than vaguely.

These tools sit alongside support — not instead of it
Grounding practices can steady a hard moment. They aren't treatment, and they aren't a substitute for a person. If things feel bigger than a breathing exercise, reaching out to a crisis line, a clinician, or someone you trust is the stronger move — not the weaker one.
In the US and Canada: call or text 988 for the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. Elsewhere, your local emergency number or a national crisis line will be the fastest route to a person.
